
BROCKPORT – The Buffalo State indoor track and field teams earned a pair of first-place finishes at the Brockport Multi Meet on Saturday afternoon, as the Bengals prepare for a huge weekend at the Boston University David Hemery Invitational this upcoming weekend.
FOR THE BENGAL MEN (7th OUT OF 16 TEAMS – 38 POINTS)
- Tyler McGrath (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) had the top time in both the preliminaries and finals on the way to winning the 60-meter dash in 7.07 seconds. He also finished third in the 200-meter dash in a season-best time of 22.95 seconds.
- David Ibalio (Sloatsburg, NY/Nyack) was eighth in the 200-meter dash with a season-best time of 23.18 seconds.
- Chris Kaszynski (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) was second with a mark of 4.40 meters in the pole vault.
- Devin Austin (Kennedy, NY/Falconer) was third in the high jump, clearing 1.91 meters.
- Jacob Mairena (Bronx, NY/Eastchester) finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in a season-best time of 8.88 seconds.
FOR THE BENGAL WOMEN (11th OUT OF 16 TEAMS – 15 POINTS)
- Makhia Laster (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.96 seconds, and also took fifth in the 200-meter dash.
- Destiny Rivera (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Liberal Arts) was eighth in the high jump, clearing 1.49 meters.
- Jenna Raczka (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) set a season-best time in the 400-meters on the way to a 10th-place finish.
