Durtat ‘Samuel’ (Smiley) Gamboian, 89, passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2023.  Born on April 22, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Arshag and Zozan Gamboian.

Durtat graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1952, and was the Vice President of his class.  He served in the United States Army in the European Theatre during the Korean Conflict.  He was a 50-year member of the Laborer’s Local Union #91.

Durtat is survived by his siblings, David (late Shirley) Gamboian, Lollie (late Corrigan) Sanoian, Marge (Dom) Balassone, Michael (Marlene) Gamboian, as well as by many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Gamboian.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his personal care aide, Tim Lewis for the care and compassion shown to Durtat.

Durtat graciously donated his body to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program.  A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
