If two weeks from now, the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs are both still in the playoffs, they’ll be headed to Atlanta for the AFC Championship game, the NFL announced today.

The neutral site was required due to the Bills and Chiefs playing an inequal number of games — and the Bills having had the potential to be the #1 seed in the AFC. As it is, the Chiefs sit half a game ahead of the Bills in seeding.

The missed game, of course, was the Bills-Bengals game that was called off following Damar Hamlin’s onfield cardiac arrest.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement, “We are heartened by the continued improvement and progress of Damar Hamlin in his recovery, and Damar and his family remain top of mind for the entire NFL community.”
