WHEATFIELD — At 12:34, p.m., while on patrol on Niagara Falls Boulevard in the Town of Wheatfield, Deputy Magliazzo and Deputy Weidel were alerted to a 2016 Kia Sorrento that had been reported stolen out of the City of Buffalo from their patrol car Automatic License Plate Recognition camera (ALPR). The deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued throughout the Town of Wheatfield and City of North Tonawanda. Ultimately, deputies were able to get the vehicle stopped as it returned to Niagara Falls Boulevard in the Town of Wheatfield.
After an investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau and deputies on scene, the following arrests were made:
– Amerika D. Dinkins, 18 years old, of the City of Niagara Falls was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
– Davon I. Grey, 20 years old, of the City of Niagara Falls was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
– A 15-year-old female from the City of Niagara Falls, who was the driver of the stolen vehicle, was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd, Unlawful Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd.
– A 15-year-old female from the City of Niagara Falls was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd.
– A 16 year old female from the City of Niagara Falls was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd.
Dinkins and Grey were arraigned in CAP court and released on their own recognizance due to bail reform. The juveniles were released to the custody of their parents. The 16-year-old female was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Youth Part Court. The two 15-year-old juveniles will be given a later date to report to the Niagara County Probation Department.
