BUFFALO – The Buffalo State women’s basketball team fell this afternoon in a non-conference matchup with Clarkson University by a final score of 74-65 at the Buffalo State Sports Arena.

- Brianna Smith (Oakfield, NY/Oakfield) led the Bengals offense with 16 points.
- Tashawni Cornfield (Gowanda, NY/Putham) and Adiya Jones (Washington, D.C., McKinley Technology each scored 15 for Buffalo State.
- Jones also had a team high nine rebounds and four steals.
- Jadyn Jones (Gowanda, NY/Lake Shore) also had a double-digit day with 12 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams were attacking offensively as things were knotted up 13-13 after the first quarter.
- The Golden Knights opened the second quarter on an 8-0 run.
- Clarkson held the lead going into the half where the score stood at 32-27.
- The Golden Knights attacked again at the start of the third quarter where they opened with a 7-0 run.
- Buffalo State pounced to start the fourth as they opened with a 7-0 run; capped off by a three-pointer from Cornfield.
- The Bengals tried to claw back into the action, however, the Golden Knights were able to keep their lead for the win.
- Clarkson shot 69.6% from the free throw line where Buffalo State was at a 50.0% clip.
FOR THE FOES
- Bella Doyle led the Golden Knights with a double-double as she netted 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
- Elaina Porter, Cassidy Dumont, and Raelin Burns all had 14 points.
