BUFFALO – The Buffalo State women’s hockey team fell short this afternoon after dropping their contest with the Potsdam Bears by a final score of 4-1 at the Buffalo State Ice Arena.

  • Miya Silva (El Monte, CA/Anaheim Lady Ducks) and Sarah Jackson (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls Rapids) each picked up an assist on the goal.
  • Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) made 16 saves in goal for the Bengals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Bears got on the board early in the first as they scored less than four minutes into the action.
  • Buffalo State would be held at bay until Groh found the back of the net off a deflection from Silva’s initial shot to even the score 1-1.
  • The Bears took the lead in the third after a shorthanded goal.
  • Emily DellaNeve would add another shorthanded goal for Potsdam to give them the 3-1 lead.
  • Shortly after, Potsdam would seal the victory with their fourth goal of the afternoon.

FOR THE FOES

  • Kaylee Merrill earned a hat trick with three goals on the day.
  • Ellie Zurfluh made 20 saves in the victory.
