
BUFFALO, NY – After visiting Alvernia scored the opening goal, the Buffalo State men’s hockey team responded with five unanswered goals to earn a 5-1 victory in the Outdoor Classic on Saturday afternoon at Buffalo RiverWorks.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Michael McCosh (Glendale, AZ/New Mexico Ice Wolves), Jackson Barrett (Zionsville, IN/Northland College), and Andrew Logar (Niagara Falls, NY/Corpus Christi Ice Rays) each scored their first goal of the season for Buffalo State. Logar also contributed a pair of assists.
 - Tyler Vanuden (Fort Frances, ON/Finlandia University) also scored, and Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia/Springfield Jr. Blues) had a goal and an assist.
 - Emil Norrman (Kungsbacka, Sweden/Dells Ducks) made 28 saves in goal for the Bengals.
 - Tyler Penree (New Hartford, NY/Vermont Lumberjacks) and Joe Glamos (Baldwinsville, NY/New Jersey Titans) each had two assists.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the second consecutive day, Alvernia netted the opening goal in the first period to take an early lead.
 - The Bengals responded quickly, as McCosh tapped in a perfect feed from Glamos at the far post.
 - Vanuden gave Buffalo State the lead for good less than two minutes later, firing a wrist shot past the Alvernia goalie.
 - The Bengals led 2-1 at the first intermission.
 - Kozyrev roofed a wrist shot on the power play to extend the Buffalo State advantage, and Barrett snuck a shot under the pads of the Golden Wolves’ goalie for a 4-1 lead after two.
 - With a safe lead, the Bengals controlled play in the third period, and Logar ripped a wrist shot with 5.8 seconds left for the final tally.

- Jason Finan scored the lone Alvernia goal.
