Carmen Munno, a longtime resident of Youngstown, NY, passed away peacefully under the care of Niagara Hospice at the age of 81, on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Born in St. Catharines, Ontario, she was the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Lucy (Tedesco) DePadre. 

Carmen was raised and educated in St. Catharines, where she was an outstanding baseball player, artist and cook. It was there she met the love of her life, Anthony Munno. They were married in 1958, and moved to the area in the 1960s with their first two children, Peter and Anthony. Shortly after, they welcomed their daughter and son, Richelle and Richie, and settled in Youngstown. Carmen was the bookkeeper for Anthony Munno Building Company for many years, and an outstanding mother and grandmother who loved music, dancing and especially cooking. 

After 61 memorable years together, Mr. Munno passed away in 2019. 

Above all, Carmen centered her life around her loving family, who will miss her dearly. She was a true inspiration to all. 

In addition to her children, Peter (Laurie) Munno, Anthony (late Dana) Munno, Richelle (Ted) Krupa and was sadly predeceased by her son Richie Munno.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa (Ray) Barry, Gina (Christian) Morales, Anthony (Natalie) Munno, Alexandra Munno, Peter (Lindsay) Munno and Tadeus Krupa; her great-grandchildren, Arlo, Carmella, Anthony, Lucia, Dominic, Isabella, Christian, Vincenza, Amanteo, Kamilla, Violetta; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Private services were held in St. Peter’s Church followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery on Thursday, January 5. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.
