Joseph L. Critelli, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2022 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Michael Critelli and the late Carmela (Bruni) Critelli Esposito, and the step son of the late Peter Esposito.

Joe was a graduate on Niagara Falls High School.  On April 30, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Gloria J. (Bonanni) Critelli.  In 1968, Joseph opened Henry’s Hamburgers in Tonawanda, NY, which he owned and operated.  He was later employed as a Carpenter with Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center until his retirement in 2010.  Joe was a member of DeFazio’s Sportsman’s Club.  Joe enjoyed traveling with his wife, and visiting the 50 States of America.  He loved reading non-fiction and books and gardening, and also a passion for live music.  Above all, he loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and dancing with the love of his life.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, Joseph is survived by his daughters, Joelyn (Lawrence) Quigliano, April (Michael) Labanowski, Danyel (Mark) Zanatian, and Stefany (Carol) Lucas; his grandchildren, Vincenzo Quigliano, Gianna Quigliano, Kayleigh Tonkinson, Brien Tonkinson, Carl (Natalie) Zanatian, Anthony Zanatian, and Victoria Zanatian, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his sisters, Anna (late John) Zaccarella and Margaret (late Anthony) Pedulla.

A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 3 PM at DeFazio’s Stadium Grill, 1234 Hyde Park Boulevard, Niagara Falls, NY 14301, where you would always find Joe and Gloria.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements by M.J.
