A retired Car Knocker with over 35 years of service to CSX Rail Transportation, James M. Gawron, passed away at Kenmore Mercy Hospital at 68 years of age.

Known as Jimmy to his friends, he enjoyed his music playing the Guitar and Harmonica with friends whenever possible. He also cherished spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them how to grow Tomatoes in the garden, or making “Bobo’s Soup” for them to enjoy.

Jim was the beloved husband of Kim (nee Ring) Gawron.

A devoted father of Justin Gawron and Shannon (Joseph) Wroblewski, and a loving grandfather to Ella, Elijah, and Aidan.

Born, Saturday, April 17th, 1954, the 3rd son of the late Helen (Kubiczek) and the late Joseph Gawron, and youngest brother of Anthony (Pamela) and Joseph Gawron and brother-in-law of Debra (Brian) Placta and James (Joanne) Ring.

He was also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will be present on Monday, December 19, 2022, from 3-7 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William Street (near Harlem) where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30 PM.
