Richard E. Ellis, 73, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on December 3, 2022 at Elderwood of Grand Island.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late James and Estelle (Evraire) Ellis.

Richard was a graduate of LaSalle High School.  He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1970 until his honorable discharge in 1971. Richard was employed for 35 years by U.A. Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 129 & Local 22 as a Pipefitter in Niagara Falls and Buffalo.  He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Seattle Seahawks fan, and enjoyed golfing.

Richard is survived by his niece, Kristin (late Michael) Whitenight, his great-nephews, Michael (Samantha) Whitenight, and Maxwell (Tia) Whitenight; his siblings, Frank (Donna) Ellis, Terri Ellis, and Lori (Robert) Bell, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and dear friends, Larry Edwards and John Cartis.  He was predeceased by his brother, Emmett (late Loretta) Ellis, niece, Katie Ellis, and nephew, Jeffrey Ellis.

There will be no prior visitation.  Private funeral services and interment with Military Honors in Western New York National Cemetery, Pembroke, NY, will be held at the convenience of the family.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.  Arrangements by M.J.
