On August 12th, 2020, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested William Stevens, 33, of Sarnia, Ontario, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree and Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree.

The Troopers attempted to pull over a vehicle on I-86 in Stow that was driving in excess of 100 miles per hour. The vehicle failed to comply and was pursued through the next several towns by the Troopers until it ran out of gas in Kennedy and the driver, identified as Stevens, was taken into custody without further incident. Investigation revealed that the vehicle Stevens was driving was stolen the day prior from Michigan and that Stevens did not have a driver license. Stevens was then processed at SP Jamestown and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
