On May 28, 2020, SP Amity Troopers arrested Andrew C. Schappacher, 37, of Friendship, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated – BAC Over 0.18%.
Troopers investigating an unrelated complaint observed Schappacher operating his vehicle on South Street in the town of Friendship. During a subsequent traffic stop, Schappacher was exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication. Troopers determined he had been operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Schappacher was then arrested and transported to SP Amity, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.21% BAC.
Schappacher was released with appearance tickets for Friendship Town Court, where he is due to appear in June.
