Nicholas L. Manzare, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Nancy (Cimino) Manzare; and is the beloved husband of Margaret R. (Trincanati) Manzare, whom he married on July 27, 1957. 

Nicholas was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School and earned his Associate’s Degree from Erie Community College. On November 1, 1957 he enlisted into the United States Marines Corps until his honorable discharge as a Staff Sargent on February 2, 1959.

Mr. Manzare was employed as a Designer Draftsman at AutoLite and Great Lakes Carbon both located in Niagara Falls. He also worked at Hyde Park Golf Course for many years. Nick was a longtime member of the I.S.D.A Volare-Cataract Lodge, Cristoforo Colombo Society, Italian American War Veterans, John Duke Center and also was the Industrial League Bowling Secretary for Great Lakes Carbon. 

Nick was an avid golfer and bowler in various leagues. He was also a NY Yankees, Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres Fan. Above all, Mr. Manzare was a devoted family man who centered his life around his family.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, Nicholas is survived by his children, Nicholas (late Denise) Manzare, John (Ashley Murray) Manzare, Christian (Chrystal) Manzare and Toni Marie (Nicholas Costa) Manzare;  grandchildren, Dominique (Kevin) Johnson, Nina, Nicholas, Mara, Rocco, Taylor, Tino, Madysen, Ayden, Raygen, Presten, Ava Rae and Riley Manzare; great-grandchildren, Camrynn, Vincent, Jayden, Joseph, Nicky, Ellee and Kevin;  brother, Ralph (Carmela) Manzare and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will begin on Monday, September 9th from 4-7 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 10:15 A.M., followed by Nicholas’ Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph’s Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY at 11 A.M. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in Mr. Manzare’s honor may be made to Niagara Hospice Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY, 14094.
