PERRY — Shortly after noon, New York State Police responded to a cornfield off Soper Road for a skydiving accident that resulted in the death of a 68-year-old Bergen man.
Further investigation revealed that Richard S. Cordaro flew out of Perry/Warsaw airport with three others. All four individuals jumped from the plane. The other three landed safely. Cordero had over 45 years of skydiving experience. Cordaro’s parachute opened normally but then became tangled. Troopers attempted life saving measures. Cordaro was pronounced at the scene.
