GREAT VALLEY — A 34-year-old Bradford, Pa. woman was charged Wednesday with driving while ability impaired by drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Martin Road. 

According to New York State Police, Jamie L. Essien was exhibiting obvious signs of impairment. Troopers determined he had been operating a motor vehicle in an impaired condition. She subsequently failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Essien was then arrested and transported to SP Olean, where a Drug Recognition Expert examination determined her to be impaired.
Essien was arraigned in Allegany Town Court, where she was released on her own recognizance. She is due to appear in Great Valley Town Court in July.
