The Canisius indoor track programs traveled to Geneva, Ohio Saturday to run in the Spire Institute Midwest Ope. Senior Siobhan Quinn set a new school record in the women’s mile with a time of 5:06.04.
 
Action started Friday evening with the men’s relay team of Paul HenryMarcus BrownJosh Sopchak andConnor Doran competing in the 4×800 relay, placing second with a time of 7:52.83.
 
On Saturday the Griffs ran in three events, with junior Nick Neamtu recording the best finish of the day, placing fifth in the mile with a time of 4:20.72. Anthony Belfatto recorded a time of 9:08.11 in the men’s 3000, while Turner Dirrigl was the Blue and Gold’s top performer in the 800, clocking in at 2:01.79.
 
On the women’s side, senior Aileen Doyle finished with a time of 5:38.94 in 25th position of the women’s mile. Senior Carlin Sullivan placed fifth in the 3000 with a time of 10:16.92.
 
Sophomore Leah Wardner finished the 400 dash in 1:07.11, while Jackie Lamica and Carolyn Spanglerran the 200 in 30.31 and 31.42. A handful of Griffs ran in the women’s 800, with freshman Bailey Pierce(2:30.56), Kayla Leo (2:32.87) and Isabella Iadicicco (2:34.85) recording the best times for Canisius.
