A 60-year-old Gerry woman was charged with DWAI – Drugs on November 27, 2018 following a check on a stranded motorist.
According to New York State Troopers, officers observed a vehicle parked on the shoulder of I-86 West in the town of Carrollton during inclement weather and stopped to check on the wellbeing of the occupants. During this interaction, they determined that Mary L. Waechter had been operating her motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. Waechter was arrested and transported to SP Olean for processing.
Waechter appeared in Allegany Town Court and was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail and will reappear in Allegany Town Court at a later date.
