1. Final Game of Road Trip
• Wednesday night’s matchup concludes a three-game road swing for the Golden Griffins. Canisius has dropped the first two games of the road trip, first with a loss to Colgate, 67-53, followed by a 71-60 loss to Oakland in Rochester, Mich.

2. New Opportunities
• Canisius has called on all 13 players on its roster this season. Senior Amanda Schiefen has started the last three games, something she hasn’t done since her sophomore campaign. Junior Tiana Pugh and Erika Joseph made their first starts of the 2018-19 season against Oakland. Junior Shannon Conely has also stepped into a new role this season, playing a career-high 30.8 minutes per game.

3. Offensive Focus
• The Blue and Gold have the third-best scoring offense in the MAAC to start the season, averaging 63.8 points per game. Canisius is shooting 36.4 percent from the field, which is fifth best in the conference. Four players have double-digit scoring averages, led by senior Sara Hinriksdottir (13.4), Conely (12.2), freshman D’Jhai Patterson-Ricks (10.4) and sophomore Danielle Sanderlin(10.0).

4. First Time at SEFCU Arena
• Canisius has never faced Albany in its home venue, SEFCU Arena. Four of the five meetings have taken place at the Koessler Athletic Center, where the Griffs are 3-1. The only other meeting between the two schools took place in Long Beach, Calif., during the Beach Classic on Dec. 8, 2012.

5. No Strangers to the Capital Region
• Even though this is the first time Canisius has played the Great Danes in Albany, N.Y., the Griffs are very familiar with the capital region. Conference foe Siena calls the Albany area home and the MAAC has held its annual championship in the state capital 17 times since Canisius first joined the conference in 1989.
