BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled defenseman Lawrence Pilut from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Pilut (5’11”, 187 lbs., 12/30/1995) joins the Sabres in the midst of a seven-game point streak with Rochester (1+8) that has propelled him into a tie for the AHL lead with 22 points (3+19) in his first 15 AHL games. He is also tied for second in the league with a plus-16 rating and has gone without a point in just two of his 15 games this season.

The Tingsryd, Sweden native signed with the Sabres as a free agent in May following a career year with HV71 of the Swedish Hockey League that culminated in his selection as the 2017-18 SHL Defenseman of the Year.

In a corresponding move, the team has placed forward Patrik Berglund on injured reserve.
