WINNECONNE, W.I. — Senior Ronni Kordrupel (East Aurora/Iroquois) made Buffalo State history today becoming the school’s first-ever athlete to compete at the NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Championships, racing to a 195th-place finish in the 279-runner field.
 
The hospitality administration major traversed the 6K course at the Lake Breeze Golf Club near the campus of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in a time of 23:13.1 in her final collegiate cross country competition.
 
Paige Lawler of Washington University won the individual title with a time of 20:55.0, leading the Bears to the team championship with 98 points, just one point ahead of runner-up Johns Hopkins.
 
Kordrupel will now focus on indoor track and field with a season-opening meet scheduled for Jan. 18 at Houghton.
