A 41-year-old Dunkirk man was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Controlled Substances by Ultimate Users Original Container on November 2, 2018 following a routine traffic stop.

According to New York State Troopers, a vehicle in which Germaine Dias was the passenger was pulled over on Route 60 in Gerry for traffic violations and while speaking to the occupants, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed that Dias was in possession of two bags containing 30 Vicodin pills, a bag containing marijuana and a large amount of cash. The driver was issued traffic tickets and Dias was placed under arrest.

Dias was processed at SP Jamestown, arraigned in the town of Gerry Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
