A 36-year-old Bolivar man was charged with Aggravated DWI – With a Child in the Vehicle, DWAI- Drugs, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle on November 5, 2018 following the discovery of an unresponsive man in a motor vehicle. 

According to New York State Troopers, during the investigation of a vehicle stopped in the roadway on State Route 19 in the town of Scio, officers discovered Chad D. Griswold unresponsive behind the wheel of his vehicle, which was in gear and running, with a child present. Troopers located small quantities of heroin and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Griswold was treated with multiple doses of naloxone at the scene, then transported to Jones Memorial Hospital. He was treated and released, arrested, and transported to SP Amity for processing.


Griswold was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Scio Town Court later this month.
