NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — After concluding their home schedule last weekend, the Niagara Purple Eagles start a three-game road swing to finish the regular season. Niagara squares off against Canisius in this season’s second installment of the Battle of the Bridge rivalry, starting at 1:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
  • Niagara concluded their home schedule at the Gallagher Center last weekend with a pair of MAAC matches. Niagara fell to Iona in straight sets on Oct. 27 before earning a five-set win against Manhattan on Oct. 28.
  • In the win against Manhattan, Mary Redl notched a double-double with 14 digs and a career-high 16 kills.
  • Jessica Streuer led the team in assists against the Jaspers with 33, while Mirna Kovacevic added a career-high 16 assists.
  • Emilie Wright had a team-best 15 digs in addition to her six assists.
  • Niagara’s 6-3 record at home this season marks their fifth consecutive season with a winning home record.
  • The Purple Eagles are now 6-0 this season in five-set matches.

On the Court: Niagara Purple Eagles (9-15, 9-6 MAAC)
  • Caroline Leitch leads the Purple Eagles in kills, averaging 2.89 kills per set. She is seventh in the MAAC in kills.
  • Streuer leads the team in assists; she has tallied 705 total assists and averages 7.92 assists per set, which is the seventh-best in the MAAC.
  • Two Purple Eagles are among the conference leaders in digs this season. Wright is ninth in the conference (3.49 per set), while Jaycie Roberts is currently 10th (3.33 per set).
  • The Purple Eagles are fourth in the MAAC in hitting percentage this season (.190).

Canisius Golden Griffins (13-11, 11-4 MAAC)
  • The Golden Griffins are first in the MAAC in hitting percentage (.244) and second in assists per set (12.06), kills per set (13.33) and service aces per set (1.62).
  • Camila Vazquez leads the conference in hitting percentage (.354), while Sofia Lopez Acosta ranks first in the MAAC in digs per set (5.31).
  • Niagara leads the all-time series against Canisius, 36-34.
