FRIENDSHIP — On October 27, 2018, SP Amity Troopers arrested Waldo Rivero-Garcia, 45, of Hialeah, Fla. for Driving While Intoxicated, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
Troopers responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver after a collision between a tractor-trailer and a barrier at the Saputo plant in the town of Friendship. Troopers observed that Rivero-Garcia was exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication. He failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Rivero-Garcia also admitted to possessing a pistol, for which he does not have a NY pistol permit. He was arrested and transported to SP Amity, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.12% BAC.
Rivero-Garcia was arraigned in Friendship Town Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail. He is due to return to Friendship Town Court at a later date.
