BUFFALO, N.Y. — Freshmen Ryan Edgar (Foristell, MO/Whitfield) and Hayden Ford (Medford, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) each netted their first collegiate goals in the third period to help Buffalo State pull away from visiting Bryn Athyn for a 5-2 victory in the opening day of the Bengals Classic tonight at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Reid Bibb (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) and Zach Remers (Clarence, NY/Canisius) finished with a goal and an assist each, and Hugo Petit (Chelsea, QC/CIH Academy) also scored for the Bengals.
- Mac Wood (Simcoe, ON/SCS) chipped in three assists.
- Buffalo State dominated the first period, outshooting the Lions 12-3, but the opening 20 minutes concluded scoreless.
- Bibb opened the scoring with a rebound tally just 12 seconds into the second period.
- Bryn Athyn evened the score minutes later, capitalizing on a two-man advantage.
- The Bengals responded with a pair of power-play goals of their own to reclaim the lead for good.
- Petit ripped a one-timer form the left point to make in 3-2, before Remers scored from the slot off a behind-the-back pass from Bibb.
- Bryn Athyn made things interesting pulling within one with just 1.6 seconds remaining in the middle frame.
- Edgar wired a shot home to extend the lead 5:31 into the final stanza and Ford completed the scoring with a point shot through traffic that found the back of the net.
- Buffalo State finished with a 38-20 advantage in shots on goal and was 2 for 4 on the power play. Bryn Athyn was 1 for 5 with the man-advantage.
- Connor Minch (Manchester, NH/Manchester Central) finished with 18 saves in the win.

- Brycon Johnson and Dakota Ulmer scored for Bryn Athyn.
- McKenzie Chalmers finished with 33 saves.
