EDISON, N.J. — Niagara University women’s basketball junior guard Jai Moore has been named to the 2018-19 Preseason All-MAAC Third Team, voted on by the leagues’ coaches, announced on Tuesday during the 2018 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Preseason Awards Show.
Moore appeared in 30 games in the 2017-18 season and started in 20. She averaged 10.3 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game. Moore scored a career-high 20 points against Saint Peter’s on Jan. 20, 2018 and dropped 20 points against local rival Canisius on Feb. 20. She recorded her first career double-double at Rider on Jan. 18 with 14 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
The Purple Eagles were picked ninth in the preseason coaches’ poll. NU finished the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 13-18 and a conference record of 9-9, which earned the team the No. 6 seed at the MAAC Championships.
Niagara opens its schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 6, hosting St. Bonaventure for a Little 3 matchup at 7:00 p.m.
