Niagara women’s soccer visits Monmouth on Wednesday

• Niagara most recently earned a 2-0 win at home against Saint Peter’s on Oct. 13. Goals by Annie Ibeyand Veda Hensel in the second help propelled the Purple Eagles to a shutout win, their first in their last seven games.
• The win marked the 10^th consecutive home win over Saint Peter’s, and the Purple Eagles are now 19-1-0 in the last 20 contests between the two programs.
• Niagara’s 43 shots against Saint Peter’s marked the most shots a team in the MAAC has recorded so far this season.
• Niagara currently sits tied for third place in the conference standings at 14 points with two games left to be played in the regular season. The Purple Eagles are one behind the Marist Red Foxes while currently tied up with the Siena Saints.

• Freshman Annie Ibey, a three-time MAAC Rookie of the Week recipient, leads the Purple Eagles in goals (seven) and points (17), and tied in assists (three). Ibey is tied for second in the league in both goals and points.
• Ibey’s five game-winning goals lead the MAAC and are in a tie for the fourth-most in the country.
• Kelsey Araujo, who co-led the team in shots with eight against Saint Peter’s, now 69 shots and a 4.60 shots per game average this season, both of which lead the conference.
• Veda Hensel also had eight shots on goal last Saturday, establishing a new career-high for the sophomore midfielder.
• The Purple Eagles lead the MAAC in shots per game (18.8) and are second in shutout percentage.

• Monmouth, the two-time reigning conference champion, come into Wednesday’s game winning its last seven contests dating back to Sept. 22.
• The Hawks lead the conference in a slew of categories, including points (92), goals (30), goals per game (1.88), assists (32), assists per game (2.00), goals allowed (seven) and shutouts (nine).
• Monmouth holds the edge in the all-time series against Niagara, 12-1-0. Since joining the conference in 2013, Monmouth has won all five matchups between the two teams.
