JERSEY CITY, N.Y. — A four-goal first half put the Niagara University men’s soccer team in a bind on Saturday afternoon. Saint Peter’s struck early and often en route to a 4-1 victory.
Match Moments
- 16′ – Matt Krucko-Moeller earned a pair of corner kicks following a deflected Dylan Avilaheader. Both balls were played in but neither resulted in a shot on net.
- 40′ – Avila got the team’s first shot on net with another header that was saved.
- 50′ – For the third time, an Avila header attempt led to a corner for Niagara.
- 67′ – The best sequence for Niagara came in an eight minute span that concluded with a shot by Hector Solorio Villalpando that was turned aside. Niagara retained possession to get three shots and two corners off.
- 87′ – Mbongeni Tshuma finally got Niagara on the board after he reeled in a rebound from a blocked Luca Pacheco attempt and hammered it home.

- Head coach Bill Boyle: “This is a very difficult place to play. We have to follow our game plan better, but we just figured it out too late. Every game is a must win now, but we feel confident we will get players healthy and be ready for that challenge.”
