STAFF REPORTS

A 29-year-old Bradford, PA man was charged with Attempted Petit Larceny and Auto Stripping on October 10, 2018 following a shoplifting report.

According to New York State Troopers, officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Sassy’s Truck Stop in the town of Carrollton. Store employees observed Troy A. Schuppenhauer place several items of merchandise inside his pants pockets and waistband. Schuppenhauer admitted to Troopers that he had no intention of paying for the items, which were valued at $288.13. The Troopers’ investigation determined Schuppenhauer was a suspect in an auto stripping case at Mallery’s Auto Body in the town of Allegany.

Schuppenhauer was arrested on both charges and arraigned in Allegany Town Court where he was released on his own recognizance for the attempted petit larceny charge and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail on the auto stripping charge.

He is due to return to Allegany Town Court at a later date.
