EDISON, N.J. — Setter Jessica Streuer has been named the MAAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

Streuer had a phenomenal weekend for the Purple Eagles, helping Niagara to wins against Quinnipiac and reigning MAAC champions Fairfield.

Against the Bobcats on Saturday, Oct. 6, Streuer tallied a career-high 61 assists. She also added two kills, two aces, nine digs and two total blocks.

In a sweep of the Stags on Sunday, Oct. 7, Streuer recorded a double-double with a team-high 36 assists and 10 digs. She also recorded a career-high three total blocks.

On the weekend, Streuer averaged an impressive 12.12 assists per set. She also averaged 2.38 digs per set.

The Purple Eagles are back in action this weekend, heading to New Jersey to take on Saint Peter’s at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13 and Rider on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1:00 p.m.
