BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo State held host D’Youville without a single shot attempt to post its fourth shutout in five games during today’s 3-0 victory to improve to 5-0 for the first time since 1983.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Bengals dominated from the opening whistle and opened the scoring in the 34th minute on a header by Theo Pencic (Oslo, Norway/Heltberg).
  • Robert Williamson (Fishkill/John Jay) pushed the Bengals lead to 2-0 less than five minutes into the second half, and Ramazani Juma (Utica/Proctor) completed the scoring with his first collegiate goal in the 66th minute.
  • Ali Shawish (Lackawanna/Lackawanna) picked up a pair of assists in the victory.
  • Buffalo State peppered the Spartans’ goal with 33 shot attempts, while Dylan Guarino(Tonawanda/Kenmore East) was not called on to make a single save for the shutout in his first start as a Bengal.

 
NOTEWORTHY

  • Buffalo State is off to its best start since starting 6-0 in 1983.
  • The Bengals have allowed just one goal in five games this season and have not conceded a goal in 307 minutes and 13 seconds of game action.
