CANISIUS COLLEGE ATHLETICS
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Canisius golf team opened the 2018 fall season on Saturday, as the Golden Griffins took part in the Alex Lagowitz Memorial, hosted by Colgate at Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, N.Y. The Griffs posted team scores of 308 and 310 in the first two rounds, placing the Blue and Gold 17th in the field.
Junior David Hanes leads Canisius, as he shot 76-73 for a two-round score of 149. He is tied for 34th in the field. Sophomore Matt Genaway carded a two-round tally of 151, which places him in a ties for 47th.
As a team, Lafayette leads the tournament after two rounds with a team score of 566, which is one-under par. Lafayette’s Brendan Cronin leads the field after 36 holes after he shot 66-69 for a two-round score of 135.
The third and final round of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial will tee off on Sunday morning.
