OSWEGO, N.Y. — The Oswego State golf team earned its first victory of the season in tremendous fashion, as three Lakers shot even par to top the leaderboard of the Potsdam Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. Oswego’s top-four finishers shot a 291, just three over par and nine shots better than the runner-up.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Corey Marshall, Sean Paul Owen and Ryan Fecco each shot even-par, 72 to lead all golfers.
Fecco collected medalist honors after winning a playoff on the second hole.
The freshman was balanced throughout the outing, shooting 36 on both sides.
Owen started off hot, coming off the front nine at minus-2 before giving those two strokes back on the final nine holes.
Marshall did the inverse of his senior classmate, needing two more strokes on the front before scoring a 34 on the back.
Erik Schleicher was the final Laker score to count in the team’s total, posting a 75.
The junior was under par after nine (minus-1, 35) before shooting 40 on the back side.


WHAT’S NEXT
Oswego will return to the links at 8 a.m. on Saturday for the first round of the two-day St. John Fisher Collegiate Invitational. Saturday’s round will be played at Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville, N.Y. before an 11 a.m. start on Sunday at Highland Park Golf Club in Auburn, N.Y.
