BUFFALO — George Richart, communications director for the Diocese of Buffalo has abruptly quit his position, according to a communication from the Diocese.
Bishop Richard J. Malone, who himself has received numerous calls to step down, released the following statement this afternoon:
“George Richert has decided to step down as diocesan Director of Communications, effective Friday, Sept. 7.”
“I am extremely grateful to George for his counsel during his tenure with the diocese, especially in these tumultuous times. George was a valued member of my leadership team, respected in the community, and a gentleman of high integrity. I wish him the very best as he pursues other opportunities.”
“I will announce an interim diocesan spokesperson soon as we commence with a search for a new Director of Communications.”
