BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Purple Eagles volleyball team fell to Seton Hall, 3-0, in its final match of the Blue and White Classic on Saturday.

Match Summary
- The Purple Eagles (0-3) and the Pirates (2-1) kept things close early in the first set but Seton Hall began to pull away, taking a 22-14 lead over NU. The Purple Eagles went on a 6-0 scoring run, which included kills from Mary Redl and Cameron Maris, to come within two points of the Pirates, 22-20. Seton Hall, however, came away with the first set, 25-21.
- The Pirates dominated the second set, allowing the Purple Eagles only 11 points to earn the 25-11 set two victory and take a 2-0 match lead.
- Seton Hall once again jumped out to a quick lead in the third set, taking a 10-3 advantage over the Purple Eagles. Two kills from Jaycie Roberts and a kill from Jada Carrol helped the Purple Eagles get within seven points of the Pirates, 15-8. The Pirates hung on, however, winning the third set 25-15 to sweep the match.
Inside the Numbers
- Alex Paris led the Purple Eagles with a career-high eight kills. She also had a team-high 9.5 points.
- Emillie Wright led the team in digs with 12.
- Roberts recorded nine digs and six kills.
- Redl had one solo block and Maris and Paris each had one block assist.
- Jessica Streuer had a team-high 14 assists.
All-Tournament Team
- Roberts was named to the Blue and White Classic’s All-Tournament Team. On the weekend, Roberts recorded 18 kills and a team-high 29 digs. She had one service ace, one solo block and two block assists.
