BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Canisius women’s soccer team opens the home portion of its 2018 schedule against Robert Morris at the Demske Sports Complex on Friday. Game time is set for 7 p.m. The Golden Griffins will then travel to Ohio to face Youngstown State on Sunday at 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Griffs opened the 2018 season with a 3-2 overtime victory at Saint Francis (Pa.) Sunday. 
• Canisius senior Paige Buscaglia scored twice in the game’s first 20 minutes and junior Margretta Dry scored the game-winner just 53 seconds into overtime. 
• Junior goalkeeper Alana Rossi was credited with one save en route to the victory.

BUSCAGLIA NAMED MAAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• Buscaglia was named the MAAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Monday after she scored two goals and four points last week.
• This marks the first time Buscaglia has been honored by the conference office for her play on the field.
• In Canisius’ season-opening victory at St. Francis, the Akron, N.Y., native scored both of her goals in the game’s first 20 minutes. 
 
CANISIUS – ROBERT MORRIS SERIES HISTORY
• Canisius and Robert Morris have played nine previous times, with the Colonials holding a 5-4 lead in the series.
• The Griffs won the first two games between these programs by a combined score of 20-0. Those games were played in the 1993 and 1994 seasons.  
• The Blue and Gold have won the last two contest against the Colonials.

CANISIUS – YOUNGSTOWN STATE SERIES HISTORY
• The Griffs and the Penguins have clashed 15 times, with Canisius leading the all-time series 9-4-1.
• Last season, Canisius came away with the 1-0 win in overtime. 

ABOUT THE COLONIALS
• Robert Morris is led by senior forward Jane Schleicher, who has accounted for the teams lone goal through two games.
• Sophomore Sydney Bruckner has started two games in goal for RMU and set a career-high nine saves in the teams 1-0 overtime loss vs. Ohio on Aug.19.
• Robert Morris has gotten 16 saves from its sophomore goalkeeper on opening weekend after she averaged 4.8 saves per game in 2017.

ABOUT THE PENGUINS
• Youngstown State completes its season-opening home stretch this weekend as it squares off against Buffalo on Friday before hosting the Griffs on Sunday.
• The Penguins are led by junior Rasheda Abdul-Rahman and freshman Samathana Mazula, who have tallied one goal each.
• Sophomore Kate McEachern has started both games in goal this season, allowing four goals and stopping four shots for a .500 save percentage.
