A North Tonawanda woman was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Leandra’s Law, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th , Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child on August 5, 2018.

According to New York State Troopers, officers responded to a 911 call at 7-11 on Boston State Rd in the Town of Boston for a report of a highly intoxicated female unable to stand that had pulled into the gas station. Troopers interviewed the driver, Michele Berg, of Claire Ave, North Tonawanda. Berg was visibly under the influence. She was administered sobriety tests which she failed. Berg was taken into custody for DWAI drugs. She had two small children in the vehicle asleep. In plain view Troopers also observed crack cocaine on the arm rest. They also could detect the odor of marijuana.  A search of the vehicle revealed crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana. Berg was transported to SP Boston for processing and the children were turned over to a sober relative. 



She is due in Boston Town Court on 08/20/18 at 6:00PM.
