BATAVIA — A 45-year-old Batavia man was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on State Route 98.

According to New York State Police, Troopers stopped Kelvin B. Murphy for speeding. While speaking to Murphy, the operator, Troopers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Murphy was placed under arrest after failing multiple SFSTs and transported to SP Batavia where he provided a breath sample of .10 BAC.

Murphy was issued traffic tickets returnable to the town of Batavia court for August 2018.
