Hanes will tee-off at 8:40 a.m., on the first day of the tournament, which is scheduled to run from July 18-21.

This marks the third-straight Porter Cup appearance for Hanes, who will be starting his junior season with the Golden Griffins this fall. Hanes, who earned a berth into the 2017 Porter Cup by winning the 2016 Little Three individual championship, played in five events for the Blue and Gold during the 2017-18 season and served as the team’s top individual performer four times. He tied for eighth in the field at the 2018 MAAC Golf Championship in April, earning him All-MAAC honors in each of his first two years with the program.

The Porter Cup, considered as one of the top amateur golf tournaments in the world, boasts an amazing list of former players, including Ben Crenshaw, Jason Day, Brooks Koepka, Matt Kuchar, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and Tiger Woods. Defending champion Brandon Wu, a rising senior at Stanford, is in this year’s field looking to become just the second player to win back-to-back Porter Cup championships. Bob Smith won the event’s title in 1966 and 1967.
