BUFFALO HEALTHY LIVING

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Dinner Club and Independent Health are excited to announce they are presenting “Dining with Diabetes,” a unique dining experience for people with diabetes. The first dinner event will be held at Sun Cuisine in Williamsville on Thursday, July 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

“Dining with Diabetes” guests will enjoy a three-course meal crafted with a person with diabetes’s nutritional needs and restrictions in mind. The menu will be designed by Sun Cuisine Chef Kevin Lin and nutritionists aligned with Independent Health. Tickets for “Dining with Diabetes” are $40 and can be purchased at www.buffalodinnerclub.com.

“Dining with Diabetes is the perfect partnership between the fun dining events that the Buffalo Dinner Club is known for hosting and the expertise and knowledge provided by Independent Health,” said Buffalo Dinner Club President Steve Ambrose. “This program will allow those with diabetes to feel comfortable when dining out, and the nutritionists will help to ensure all of the guests experience a delicious, diabetes-friendly meal.”

“We are excited to be working with the Buffalo Dinner Club to help people with diabetes overcome the dietary challenges they can often face when eating at a restaurant,” said Frank Sava, spokesperson for Independent Health. “Dining with Diabetes is yet another way Independent Health is making it easier for Western New Yorkers to take charge of their health and make better, more informed health choices.”

As part of its commitment to creating a culture of health in Western New York, Independent Health offers a variety of tools and resources that can be used by people with chronic conditions like diabetes to improve their overall health and well-being. One such resource is the Brook diabetes personal assistant, which provides simple, impactful, data-driven support on an individual’s smartphone to help them manage their diabetes and other chronic condition in real time. The Brook diabetes personal assistant is available for download at www.brook.ai.

Space is limited for the “Dining with Diabetes” event. For more information or event updates, visit The Buffalo Dinner Club’s website at www.buffalodinnerclub.com and/or Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BuffaloDinnerClub2017.
