TeamNIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara University women’s soccer program has announced its 17-game schedule for the 2018 season. The Purple Eagles will face three 2017 NCAA Tournament teams in non-conference play before starting its MAAC schedule.

NU starts its campaign on the road on August 19 against the Bucknell Bison, who won the Patriot League tournament to advance to the 2017 NCAA Tournament. The Purple Eagles open their home schedule with two straight games against Cleveland State (August 23) and Robert Morris (August 26).

Niagara will then head to the Sunshine State for its first-ever meetings versus defending A-Sun champion Florida Gulf Coast (August 31) and Florida Atlantic University (September 2). NU returns home to host 2017 NCAA Tournament participant St. Francis (PA) on September 6. The Purple Eagles wrap up non-conference play at Little 3 rival St. Bonaventure on September 9.

Niagara begins MAAC play at Iona (September 15) and host Rider (September 22) the following Saturday. Niagara travels to play Siena on September 26 before returning for a two-game homestand versus Quinnipiac (September 29) and Marist (October 3).

The Purple Eagles next two games are on the road at Manhattan on October 6 and crosstown rival Canisius on October 10. NU welcomes Saint Peter’s on October 13 before its final regular season road match against Monmouth. Niagara concludes the regular season hosting Fairfield on October 20.

The six-team MAAC Tournament starts the last week of October.

NU returns 20 letterwinners from last season’s team that advanced to the MAAC Tournament Quarterfinals where it lost to the eventual champion, top-seeded Monmouth.
