PRESS RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-26), a member of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade and Co-Chair of the Northern Border Caucus, released the following statement following yesterday’s summit:

“North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is a brutal dictator, who has imposed pain and persecution on his own people and Americans.  Still, the quest for diplomacy with our world partners is a worthy goal and one we must continuously seek.  While we await tangible results of substance and benefits to the United States following the Summit, we hope the Administration puts the same effort into maintaining and building existing relationships vital to the American economy and security, rather than threatening to make enemies of our allies.”
