On June 10, 2018 at 11:59 p.m., Troopers out SP Boston responded to a two vehicle collision involving a deer on State Route 219 southbound on the Rice Road off ramp.
Further investigation revealed that a 2011 Mini Cooper was southbound on 219 and struck a deer that entered the roadway. As the Mini Cooper stopped and stuck the deer a 2003 Toyota operated by Toni Naumovski, 51 of Orchard Park, NY failed to stop and struck the rear end of the Mini Cooper. Naumovski was transported to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and succumb to his injuries. Naumovski was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit and SP Boston Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.
