CANISIUS COLLEGE ATHLETICS
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Canisius rowers Patricia Beaulieu, Jessica Fabian, Sydney Bichsel and Lexi Heinz were all named to the 2018 Division I All-Conference Team, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced Friday. The CRCA’s 2018 Division I All-Conference Team’s recognize the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains from each Division I rowing conference. These athletes, along with others who compete at the NCAA Championships, will be eligible for 2018 All-America awards selection.
Additionally, the CRCA announced that Beaulieu, Fabian, Heinz, sophomore Misa Gamble, senior Grace Hornerand junior Michelle Turner were honored to the organization’s Scholar-Athlete Team for 2018. To be eligible for the CRCA Scholar-Athlete Team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, have rowed in 75 percent of spring races and hold a grade point average of 3.5 or higher throughout their careers.
The Canisius rowing team placed third at the 2018 MAAC Rowing Championship last month, with the Golden Griffins’ first varsity eight boat placing fourth in the grand final. Beaulieu, Fabian, Heinz and Gamble were all participants in that effort for the Blue and Gold.
