PRESS RELEASE

A 32 year old Brocton man was charged with DWAI, Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana on June 2, 2018 after a call to police about an intoxicated male.

According to New York State Troopers, officers responded to a report of a male subject stumbling around and knocking items over in the Country Fair store in Gerry. The subject was driving away upon the Troopers’ arrival and was pulled over on Route 60 after committing a traffic violation. The male subject, identified as Marcus Watters, exited for the purpose of preforming SFSTs at which time the Troopers observed multiple hypodermic needles in plain view inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed three bags containing a combined total of nine grams of heroin, eight hypodermic needles and a pipe containing marijuana residue. Watters was placed under arrest and transported to SP Jamestown where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and determined to be under the influence of an opiate. Watters was then processed, issued tickets returnable to the town of Gerry Court and released.

Watters is scheduled to appear in the town of Gerry Court later in the month to answer the charges.
