NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara University baseball team will close out non-conference play with a single game against University at Albany on Wednesday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
  • The Purple Eagles played a three-game series against the MAAC-leading Quinnipiac Bobcats May 5-6. NU split a doubleheader with the Bobcats (6-3 loss, 10-6 win) before dropping the final game of the series, 8-1.

On the Field: Niagara Purple Eagles
  • Shortstop Greg Cullen currently leads the nation in batting average (.463) and on-base percentage (.555). He has a team-high 69 hits, 41 runs scored and .631 slugging percentage.
  • First baseman Peter Battaglia leads the team in RBIs (45), doubles (14) and homeruns (six).
  • Center fielder Julian Gallup has a team-best 15 stolen bases.
  • On the mound, Cody Eckerson (2-5) leads the Purple Eagle pitching staff with 68 strikeouts in 55.2 innings pitched. He has an ERA of 5.17.
  • Matthew Grace and Alex MacKinnon each have two saves on the season so far.

On the Field: Albany Great Danes
  • Infielder Patrick Lagravinese leads the Great Danes at the plate with 39 hits and a .293 batting average.
  • Connor Powers, an outfielder, has a team-high 22 RBIs.
  • Catcher Codispoti leads Albany in runs scored with 25.
  • Dominic Savino (7-3) leads the pitching staff with 58 strikeouts in 66.0 innings pitched. Savino has an ERA of 3.41.
