PRESS RELEASE




FREDONIA — On April 21, 2018 at 3:20 P.M. the Bureau of
Criminal Investigation (BCI) out of SP Fredonia responded to a report of
a found unidentified male body located off State Hwy 20 in the town of
Portland.  An operator traveling on State Hwy 20 located the deceased. 
The body is scheduled for an autopsy to determine the identity and the
cause of death.



The New York State Police in Fredonia are investigating the suspicious
death of Brian Heyden, age 47, who was found deceased on April 21, 2018
in a wooded area just off RT-20 in the Town of Portland.  The victim was
homeless and known to travel from his encampment just west of Brocton
to Fredonia on a daily basis

**The NYSP at SP Fredonia is requesting the publics assistance
with this ongoing investigation.  It is believed that Mr. Heyden
received a ride from a passing motorist on Friday April 20, 2018 in the
afternoon.  It is believed Mr. Heyden was picked up on Route 20 in the
village of Fredonia and traveled west on Route 20 in a white or light
colored pickup truck.
