LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — A pair of Purple Eagles honored by the MAAC at the 2018 postseason awards show and banquet. Andreea Peteu was named to the All-MAAC Second Team in No. 2 singles and Shannon Wong was selected to the All-MAAC Second Team in No. 5 singles.

Peteu led the Purple Eagles in singles wins during the regular season with 14 victories in her first season as a Purple Eagle. Peteu won 10 out of 22 matches playing No. 2 singles. In MAAC action, Peteu went 5-2 playing in the two slot which were the second most wins in No. 2 singles.

Wong ended the regular season on a six-match win streak. She finished with a 6-1 record in MAAC matches, including going 4-0 in No. 5 singles. Her six conference wins are tied with five other players for the most in the league.  

Senior Sharlee Deshmukh and sophomore Ali Hutchinson were named to the MAAC All-Academic. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
