BUFFALO STATE ATHLETICS
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Julia Blujus (Amherst/Sacred Heart) and Cassie O’Hern (Augusta, NJ/High Point) combined for 10 hits, seven runs scored and a pair of RBIs to pace Buffalo State to a sweep over visiting Potsdam, 10-2 and 7-2, today in a SUNYAC doubleheader.
GAME #1 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- O’Hern recorded three of the Bengals’ 11 hits in the first game, going 3 for 3 with three runs scored.
- Abby Bachman (Barker/Barker) was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Blujus was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs.
- Hannah Dunlap (Batavia/Oakfield-Alabama) added a two-run double, and Melissa Woods(Lakeview/Frontier) also drove in a pair of runs.
- The Bengals cruised to the win, scoring four in the second, four in the third and two more in the fourth before Potsdam plated its only two runs during a three-hit fifth inning.
- Marissa Hayes (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) picked up the win allowing just four hits in three complete innings.
- Nicole Adams (Lockport/Starpoint) was in the circle for the final two innings, surrendering four hits and two runs.
FOR THE FOES
- Lauren Brace was 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI, and Brooke Falsion went 2 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored for Potsdam.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Blujus paced the Bengals in the second game, going 3 for 4 from the plate with a triple and three runs scored.
- Abijah Adams (Rochester/Greece-Arcadia) finished 1 for 3 with her second homerun of the season and added three RBIs.
- Danielle Szymkowiak (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga) and Emily Frajdofer (Cheektowaga/JFK) were 2 for 3 and 2 for 2 from the plate respectively, and each tallied an RBI and a run scored.
- Woods and Dunlap both added RBIs.
- Potsdam jumped out to the early lead with one run off of 3 hits in the top of the first.
- Buffalo State responded with scoring a run in the bottom of the first and another run in the bottom of the third to take a 2-1 lead.
- The Bengals tacked on two more with back-to-back RBI hits in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 4-1.
- After a 1-2-3 top of the fifth for Potsdam, Abijah Adams belted a two-run homerun to center field to push the lead to 6-1.
- Buffalo State capped of its scoring with one run on two hits, including a triple from Blujus.
- Hayes was credited with her fourth-consecutive win of the weekend, giving up only two runs on six hits in seven innings of work.
FOR THE FOES
- Lauren Brace and Megan Fish finished 2 for 3 and 1 for 3 respectively, and each recorded an RBI.
- Fish also picked up the loss in the circle, giving up six runs on nine hits in 4 and 1/3 innings.
- Alissa McCauley pitched 1 and 2/3 innings of relief, giving up one run on four hits.
NOTEWORTHY
- Hayes becomes the first Buffalo State pitcher since 2008 to be credited with all four wins in a pair of doubleheader sweeps.
